Gary Maberry represents businesses and individuals throughout the United States in complex Federal tax matters including IRS Audits and Appeals, IRS Collection matters, Civil Tax Litigation and Criminal Tax cases. With nearly 40 years of experience (28 years with the IRS and 11 years in the private sector), Mr. Maberry has a wealth of knowledge regarding Federal tax matters and an insider’s understanding of the IRS and the Department of Justice policies, procedures and strategies. He is the one that experienced attorneys, CPAs and tax professionals contact for answers to the most complex tax questions.
Mr. Maberry began his career as a Revenue Officer with the Internal Revenue Service in 1972. Soon after hiring, he was promoted to a management position within the IRS Collection Division and supervised a number of Revenue Officers. In 1977, Mr. Maberry became a Special Agent in the IRS Intelligence Division (later known as the Criminal Investigation Division). He received special training at the Federal Law Enforcement Center in Glynco, Georgia. While at the IRS, Mr. Maberry received numerous awards including the Special Achievement Award and the Superior Performance Award. Mr. Maberry retired from the IRS Criminal Investigation Division in December of 1999.
Mr. Maberry is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. While at Texas Wesleyan, Mr. Maberry lead the university’s baseball team for all 4 years of his attendance and was awarded an Outstanding College Athletes of America award.
When he isn’t working, Mr. Maberry enjoys travel, reading and spending time with his family.
